"I had but all forgotten about N7. Its patented poisonous particles seeping into our very water, oozing its way into our lungs and hearts via every orifice. Until the rat problem that is. They appeared They ate our bread, drank our wine, even chewed on our soap. rat spit, rat sweat, rat excreta. Then they moved on to furniture, upholstery and modern equipment. Rat brain, rat noise, rat power. I didn't do anything until they started nibbling at the records and books, and when they got to the good stuff I had to do it. I walked into my office and they had eaten the "K","X" and "Z" keys off the computer keyboard. Rat kit, rat bop, rat cut. So I went up into the attic, to the chest I remembered existed, from when the house was built probably, or older still. I put on my good rubber gloves and a clean mask, not that it mattered, but you know, the mental thing probably did, so I pried it open, it let out a burp of blue death, there were about two dozen boxes of it, soaking in the bromethalin future of the human race. I figured we would need about all of it, enough to fill two buckets, enough to spend three hours grinding it in a mortar into a neon blue powder. I added cheese spray all over it, for flavour, giving it a lovely green hue, and started coating every inch of the house with it, every crack, every corner, until I could hear the Earth scream with painful disgust. I locked the front door, put the key in my shirt pocket, got in the car and hit the road. Six hours later I had my feet in the sea and my lips in Pastis, Mediterranean diet alright. The calanque seemed to get along OK with the December sun, and I thought I could agree with the south. Heard they have a rat problem too"
