Qu’est-ce qu'un avion?
Qu'est-ce que la guerre?
Voila les questions que les oiseaux se posent, au crépuscule au pied d'un mur, ou a l'aube sur la plus haute branche d'un frêne tricentenaire, lorsque la cacophonie des chants de milliers d'oiseaux laisse la place au grondement sourd d'une planète abandonnée, résonant encore du bruit des absents et des mythes de leur disparition.
L'homme exista-t-il vraiment avant que l'oiseau ne devienne le maître de la Terre?
Est-il vrai qu'il avait un temps façonné des machines lui permettant, bien que grotesque parodie du vol de l'oiseau, de parcourir le ciel? Est-il vrai que ces mêmes machines furent l'instrument de leur annihilation, et par la-même du règne incontesté des oiseaux sur l’atmosphère entière?
Non, répondent les oiseaux docteurs, l'homme ne fut qu'un mythe crée par des conteurs habiles pour expliquer le mystère de notre origine."

Those are the questions that birds ask themselves, at dusk at the foot of a wall, or at dawn on the highest branch of a tricentenial ash tree, when the cacophony of thousands of bird songs gives way to the low growl of an abandoned planet, still resonating from the noise of the vanished et the myths of their disappearance.
Did man really exist before bird became the Earth’s overlord ?
Is it true that he had once produced machines endowing hime with the ability – however grotesque a parody of bird flight – to roam about the sky ? Is it true that these same machines were the instrument of their own annihilation, and thus that of bird’s unchallenged reign over the entire atmosphere ?
No, answer the doctor-birds, man was nothing but a myth, created by wiley storytellers to explain the mystery of our origins.
The fruit of the slowed-down scraping of a barren dusty soil, mono-maniac crypto-archaeological digs revealing underneath a superposition of strata the paleolithic origin of the avian flu, Vol. is Poule-Poutre’s debut album.
